We are honored that our Executive Chairman, Prof. Dato’ Sri Dr. Captain Razali Yaacob, had the privilege to attend the inauguration of the Johor Talent Development Council (JTDC) by YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Deputy Prime Minister I. This groundbreaking initiative positions Johor as a pioneer in developing talent to meet the demands of industry, especially in light of the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ).
At the event, major industry players like Mercedes Benz, ByteDance, Microsoft, and Legoland joined forces with the state government, signing MoUs to support the JTDC agenda. By establishing JTDC, Johor is creating valuable opportunities for young talent, with starting wages of RM4,000 for diploma holders and RM5,000 for degree holders in sectors like data centers.
The initiative will:
1. Restructure training and education to align with industry needs.
2. Serve as a one-stop hub for skilled labor recruitment, attracting investments with the support of the Invest Malaysia Facilitation Centre Johor (IMFC-J).
3. Strengthen ties between industry and education, enhancing career prospects for graduates.
4. Collect and analyze workforce data to ensure Johor’s strategic approach to talent development meets future demands.
As a maritime education institution dedicated to cultivating industry-ready graduates, we are inspired by this initiative and look forward to further collaborations that will boost employability, provide high-income job opportunities, and prepare our young professionals for the global stage. We are confident that this visionary approach will contribute significantly to Johor’s ambition to achieve developed-state status by 2030.
We extend our gratitude to all involved for their support and commitment to this transformative effort.
