At NMUC School of Postgraduate Studies, we offer Ph.D in Maritime Supply Chain where students have the opportunity to conduct world-class research that influences policies and practices that generate global impact. School of postgraduate studies has a deep understanding of the maritime and supply chain fields, its origins, contemporary issues, research methods, and theoretical frameworks. Their researches exert influence on the supply chain and maritime fields whether they choose to work as a university faculty member, corporate research or elsewhere in the public or private sectors.

Entry Requirements

A Master’s degree in business or related field (must be accepted by NMUC Senate)

Other qualifications equivalent to a Master’s degree as accepted by the university.

Non-native English speakers must fulfill the NMUC English language proficiency requirements.

PROGRAMME DURATION

For full-time students, the estimated completion is 3 to 5 years, and for part time students is 4 to 8 years, which includes coursework and thesis
Students are required to pass two subjects including research methodology and strategic management before preparing their PhD proposal. The thesis must be written in British/American English language and its length shall be within the range of 40,000 to 100,000 words. The details have been provided in our “Thesis Preparation Guidelines” to ensure that students’ theses meet the professional academic standards.

PUBLICATION REQUIREMENT

The candidate must have at least two (2) articles accepted for publication in peer reviewed journals including conferences before submitting “Notice of Intent to Submit Thesis”.

NMUC provides state-of-the-art learning technology and facilities for its students. The programmes offered are based on practical and industry-oriented curriculum and could be used as bridging platforms to pursue further education leading to bachelor and postgraduate degrees in advanced maritime nations abroad. The multi-cultural and international experience found in NMUC is further enhanced by the presence of practising professionals from Malaysia and abroad who serve as visiting lecturers.
