The Industry & Student Engagement Department had organized for the students, lecturers and guests from the Industry, two days of talks conducted by Professor Dr. Nikitas Nikitakos, who is a graduate of Hellenic Naval Academy, University of Piraeus, Greece and hold s a Ph.D in Electrical and Computer Engineering, from the National University of Athens. He is a Professor of Shipping Informatics and New Technologies since 2001 and was head of the Dept. of Shipping Trade and Transport at the University of the Aegean.
The topics were about Blue Growth and AI in Shipping.
A total of 25 students, 20 lecturers and guests from Horizon Logistics ( Ms Jasmine ) & KT Haulage ( Ms Mary & Mr Lim) had attended these 2 sessions and gained knowledge in these new technologies in Shipping. Our industry guests were also able to receive latest intel on the current trends in shipping industry that we can implement in Malaysia in the future. It was an informative sessions for the students as well as the lecturers as they were able to connect with the sharing from Professor Nikitas and can be implemented in their lectures with other students who were not able to participate in the session.
