The Industry & Student Engagement department had organized and invited Sur Factor Asia Pacific, a 75 years leading company in the surface material for the woodworking industry, and has big volume of import and export shipments via FCL per year, to conduct an Industry Talk for the students and lecturers.
Sur Factor Asia Pacific is an MNC and the head office is located in Dynea, Finland.
The guest speakers were: Captain Harith, Human & Resource Admin, Manager,
Ms Shalini, Resin Plant Manager and Mr Kamal, Technical & Customer Service Manager.
Captain Harith shared his previous experiences in the shipping industry and gave a Career Talk.
Ms Shalini introduced their surface wood material products, the engineering wood operation and about their shipments requirement process to the Middle East and to the West Europe.
Durghern and Pravin, two of our students, who are currently doing their internship with Sur Factor Asia, shared their experiences and what they have learned so far and answered some questions asked by the students.
Our students and lecturers had gained exposure and learned new knowledge about their products and on the shipment operation process. They were very interested with this Industry Talk and participated actively in the Q&A section.
