The Industry and Student Engagement department has organized an Industry site visit for the students on Wednesday 02/08/2023 at Swift Integrated Logistics. Swift Integrated Logistics started in 2011 as a hauler, owns 1600 trucks, and has become a fully integrated solution and a public listed company and has offices in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.
Their core businesses are import/export via air, sea and land, contract logistics and forwarding. Swift Integrated Logistics has its own custom brokerage license. 30 students, from different programs: DSM, DMOSH, BML, DMTM and 5 lecturers had joined this Industry visit and were eager to learn and actively participated in the Q&A session.
One of our students who is doing his internship there, Danish had conducted the safety briefing and Mr Simon, The Senior GM of Warehouse and Transportation was very impressed by his performance, his good attitude, and his proficiency in English. Mr Simon had invited our students to pursue their internship with Swift Integrated Logistics.
The students and lecturers had gained knowledge in freight forwarding, warehouse operations, custom clearance and intermodal transportation, and had two warehouses tour, one with food grade and one handling the general cargo. One of their main customers is Reckitt Benckiser. Overall, it’s was a very good learning experience for our students and for our lecturers.
