The Importance of Mangroves Trees in Reducing carbon

On July 24, 2024, the Centre of Community Engagement (CCE) hosted a successful program focused on “The Importance of Mangrove Trees in Reducing Carbon.” The event featured a range of activities, including a coloring contest and chili tree planting. This initiative was part of the Knowledge Transfer Program (KTP) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts. It was spearheaded by Mr. Aiman Muqri, who serves as the project leader for Grant Community 4.0 from the Netherlands Maritime University College, and received support from accompanying lecturers Mr. Ismail Masran, Ms. Hadzirah Kursiah, Ms. Nurul Syafiqah, and Ms. Shahidah.

The program also saw active involvement from Bachelor of Maritime Logistics (BML) students, such as Mr. Aiman Saufee, Mr. Christine, Ms. Aisyah, Ms. Angela, and Mr. Umul Ilham. This effort was in alignment with a low-carbon initiative funded by the Community 4.0 grant from the Iskandar Puteri City Council (MBIP).

Moreover, the event was a collaborative effort with SK Taman Bukit Indah, which played a vital role in ensuring the program’s success and advancing environmental conservation efforts. The Centre of Community Engagement extends its heartfelt thanks to SK Taman Bukit Indah for their valuable collaboration and support, which significantly contributed to the program’s effectiveness and promoted greater environmental awareness.
