Educational talk by MACC Johor
On July 30, 2024, the Netherlands Maritime University College (NMUC) hosted an impactful educational talk titled “Bicara Integriti 2.0: Rasuah Sifar, Bangsa Mekar.” Organized by the School of General Studies and Management within the Academic Department, this event was a key component of the Integrity and Anti-Corruption subject (MPU3352/MPU2363) for both Diploma and Degree levels. The program commenced with opening remarks from Prof. Ts. Haji Tomingan bin Kamaron, a Senior Lecturer in the Academic Department, setting the tone for a day of insightful discussions.
The highlight of the event was a compelling presentation by MACC Officer Mr. ‘Azmi bin Yusof, who shared his vast expertise on anti-corruption practices. His presentation was both informative and thought-provoking, offering students a deeper understanding of the challenges and solutions in combating corruption. The session also featured a lively Q&A segment, providing students with the opportunity to directly engage with the speaker and delve deeper into the topic.
Later in the evening, 120 students enrolled in the Integrity and Anti-Corruption subject participated in a one-hour Poster Exhibition and Presentation at the Student Lounge on Level 9. This activity, a vital part of the subject’s assessment, showcased the students’ understanding on various aspects of integrity and anti-corruption.
The event not only aimed to enhance students’ and staff’s awareness of corruption but also reinforced NMUC’s commitment to fostering a culture of integrity within its academic community. The day’s events were a testament to NMUC’s dedication to cultivating ethical values and empowering future leaders to stand firm against corruption.
