Last Thursday, NMUC had the pleasure of hosting Kapten Rasol Puteh’s memoir launching ceremony. Kapten Rasol is a dear friend of our executive chairman and the ceremony was attended by our students as well as top management staffs where Kapten Rasol also gave out signed copies of his memoir to all guests.
Synopsis of his memoir:
He began his career at sea at the age of 16 after being accepted into a cadet officer at T.S. Dufferin, Bombay, India.
All his experiences and memories when he got training at T.S Dufferin and T.S. Rajendra was narrated (in the form of a painting) and told as long as he was on the ship.
Then, he began to serve with MISC Bhd. and his first voyage was with the Bunga Tanjong ship carrying cargo.
His life at sea was longer than on land was shared and many historical moments that took place around the world were felt by him until he was the captain of the ship.
Finally, Captain Rasol managed to circumnavigate the world by voyage to the west for 5 months and 12 days, starting from the Port of Klang until the last point at the same port, as far as 33,829 n.m. or 62,651 km passing through 20 world ports.
